Since the launch of our new Rewards Program almost 3 months ago, the response has been very positive. Typically customers are saving around an additional 5% on all orders (on top of our great prices, free shipping, and volume discounts). This is something we had wanted to do for some time to reward you and we couldn’t be happier to see it working so well. The next phase in helping all our customers save in these tough times is aimed at referrals.  Being an internet company, we rely on word of mouth marketing to get people to our site.  Our philosophy has always been if we make you happy with our service, then you will want to tell others about us.  Everybody wins.  But beyond just referring friends to us out of the goodness of your heart, we think you should be rewarded for this hard work.  As to how exactly this should happen, there are many ideas.  To ensure we can develop the best referral program, we will be testing out several options in the coming months, the first of which is detailed below.  Of course we are very interested in everyone’s feedback as we develop a more permanent solution.

Referral Program Now Live

We are pleased to announce that our beta test for referrals is now live on healthdesigns.com.  To invite your friends and family now and start earning, click here.  We have kept this program very simple and here are the basics as to how it works:

Simple enough?  We think its a great start for the referral program, but of course we will be hoping for feedback as we improve it.  Just make sure your friends or family click on the link in the invite email, otherwise we have no way to track them as your referral and you can’t get the credit you worked so hard for.  Thanks everyone, we look forward to seeing how you like this!

On a cold Saturday in January, members of the HealthDesigns staff and the Schneider Clinic drove to Chicago to attend a seminar by Dr. Jeffrey S. Bland.

The seminar, “Bridging Lifestyle Medicine and Systems Biology in Clinical Practice,” suggested that our health systems are not serving patients as well as they could. While a patient might go to a cardiovascular specialist, and be given medicine to address a cardiovascular issue, they might end up going to several other specialists and getting specific meds for each issue. Instead, Dr. Bland stressed that doctors should be looking at the whole system, and by doing so, could help the patient take steps to correct the one problem causing all the issues.

He went into detail, discussing how to look at and treat metabolic syndrome, diabetes, and menopause.

After a long day, a ton of information, and a great Mediterranean-style lunch (salad, fruits, grilled vegetables, lentil salad and salmon), we had a lot to talk about! We are excited to use this information to better serve our patients and customers; we do all we can to stay updated on the latest health information.
