Classic Middle Eastern salads are folded into a pita to create a delicious and portable vegetarian meal.
Ingredients
  • 1 large pita
  • 2 tablespoons hummus
  • ½ cup diced tomatoes
  • ½ cup diced cucumber
  • 1 teaspoon za’atar
  • 1 teaspooon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • ½ cup plain low fat yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon dried mint
  • 1 clove garlic – grated
  • salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. Lay pita flat and spread hummus along the middle leaving space at the edges.
  2. In a small bowl, combine diced tomato with half of the cucumber (1/4 cup), za’tar, olive oil, half of the lemon juice (1 tablespooon) and salt/pepper to taste; spread on top of hummus in the pita.
  3. To create cucumber yogurt sauce, combine remaining ¼ cup cucumber, yogurt, dried mint, garlic and remaining 1 tablespoon of lemon juice in a small bowl. Season with salt/pepper to taste then drizzle on top of the tomato salad.
  4. Roll pita into a wrap and slice in half to serve.
Notes
Another option is to serve the salads on a big platter and use pita bread for dipping instead of creating a sandwich.

How to Clean Your Makeup Brushes Like a Pro

Posted by aschneider

Public rest-rooms. Getting ready for a girls night out. Cars.

These are all places that I have seen countless girls apply their makeup. Most times, it is with dirty brushes that have been caressing the dirt and bacteria at the bottom of their makeup bag for months (or even years!) When bath-time eventually does come around for our little hairy friends, a lot of girls just use any soap laying around or spend a lot of unnecessary dollars on expensive brush cleaning products.
Here is an easy method that I use every time to cleanse my brushes. This will leave them squeaky clean, (you will see how much dirt and old product comes out of them) sterilized, and soft. It will extend the life of your brushes, prevent them from shedding, and rid them of unwanted bacteria.
What you will need:
1.) Any antibacterial soap/dish soap (antibacterial is important to sterilize the brushes and kill bacteria)
2.) Extra-Virgin Olive Oil (this will help replenish moisture in the brush hairs)
3.) Any plate
4.) Paper Towels (as much as you need to lay all your brushes flat on)
5.) Tap water and a sink
6.) Your dirty brushes
Directions:
1.) Pour 3 parts Antibacterial Soap and 1 part Extra-Virgin Olive Oil on your plate
2.) Mix together
3.) Dip brush into mixture on the plate
4.) Place brush in your hand and move brush back and forth (you will see the mixture froth up and some product from the brush begin to come out)
5.) Run the brush under the tap water while still moving the brush back and forth
6.) While under the water, take your hand and starting from the base of the brush hairs, gently squeeze downwards (you will see the product being forced out of the brush and land in the sink)
7.) Put paper towel on a flat surface and place cleaned brushes on it to dry (the paper towel will soak up the extra water–it normally takes a few hours for the brushes to completely dry)
Optional Extra Step:
8.) Use Antibacterial wipes to clean the handles of the brushes (you are touching them all the time and so they get dirt and germs on them as well–you will be surprised at how much  dirt comes off!)
EEK! It’s surprising (and disgusting) how much dirt comes off just the handles of the brushes!!
